History

The Grosse Pointe Concours d'Elegance was started in 2008 by the Grosse Pointe Farms Foundation as an idea to bring Grosse Pointe Farms residents to their beautiful Pier Park.

The Foundation wanted to encourage more people to visit the park and see the many improvements that had been made. These improvements included the new paddle tennis courts, the refinished tennis courts, a new ice skating rink, and the new warming building. The event was to be another fun reason for people without boats or children at the pool, to use our amazing waterfront park, see what's new and view some of the fine automobiles that are such a large part of our local history.

The Concours has been a success from the start, averaging more than 60 classic cars and over 600 people for the three hour event. Originally limited to Farms residents, it quickly became evident that many other Grosse Pointe residents wanted to proudly showcase their unique automobiles. So in 2011 the event was opened to all the Grosse Pointes.

Be sure to join us for what we expect will become Michigan's Premier Concours d'Elegance. Thank you for your support.
